Fourier series

Any well-behaved periodic signal can be written as:

f (t) = a_{0} + n = 1 \sum \infty [a_{n} cos (nω t) + b_{n} sin (nω t)]

This is the foundation of frequency-domain analysis — and eventually, DSP on FPGAs.
